India connects with Maldives over visa disavowal

India is in chats with the Maldives over the issue of visa disavowal by the island country and is trusting that at “some point” they will take a financially feasible choice, sources said.

This comes in the setting of the reports which express that many work visas have been denied to Indians by Maldives.

Indians who were offered work in the Maldives have been informed that “political issues” are behind the visa delays, according to media reports.

As per the ordinary visa strategies, it takes 15 days for Indians to acquire licenses to work in Maldives. In any case, since February this year, there has been a sharp decrease in the quantity of work visas issued to the Indians.
