Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes ban || More than 2 lakh ATMs are closed, money is not available, says Mamata Banerjee

Seems that the demonetization drive undertaken by the government of India to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency note as a measure to crack down on black money may have reluctantly brought all opposition parties together. Today Chief Minister (CM) of West Bengal (WB) Mamata Banerjee in an interaction with the media has revealed that people are facing lots of inconvenience as more than two lacs ATM machines are closed.

She said,”I personally visited several banks today to listen to tales of hardship of common people.”

The Bengal CM said, “only one percent people hold black money; why are the other 99% being harassed for this’?” It may be contested that some of the issues she has raised should be addressed by the central government like non availability of bank branches in remote villages of not just in West Bengal but also in other parts of the country.
