Indian cyclists denied visa by Swiss consulate for World Junior C’ships

The Switzerland consulate has rejected the visa utilization of six Indian cyclists in front of the forthcoming World Junior Cycling Championship 2018.

The six Indian players who have been denied visas are- – Amar Singh, Bilal Ahmad Dar, Gurpreet Singh, Manoj Sahu, Naman Kapil and Venkappa Shivappa.

Refering to the explanation behind the same, the international safe haven authorities expressed that ‘legitimization for the reason, condition and proposed stay was not given’ and the data given ‘was not solid.’

The authorities additionally expressed that ‘aim to leave the region of part states before visa expiry couldn’t be determined’ in the visa application’.

In the mean time, Secretary General of Cycling Federation of India (CFI) Onkar Singh and Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) has kept in touch with Swiss Embassy, asking for them to issue the essential visa to Indian cycling group so they could partake in the competition.

On a related note, the World Junior Cycling Championship is slated to be held from August 15 to 19.
