Ellie Soutter, one of Britain’s most capable youthful snowboarders, passed on her eighteenth birthday celebration on Wednesday.
Soutter won a bronze award for Great Britain at the 2017 Youth Olympic Winter Festival and conveyed the British banner at the end service. This month she was named in the senior GB squad for the snowboard cross Europa Cup circuit, and was tipped for a place at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
She had been preparing abroad in Europe, and passed on close to her home in France.
No further points of interest have been discharged about her passing.
Composing on Facebook on Thursday, her dad, Tony Soutter, said he was “so glad for the wonderful young lady she had transformed into”.
He included: “This brutal world took my perfect partner and ‘Bessie’ from me yesterday on her eighteenth birthday celebration. Ellie I will miss you more than you could have ever envisioned. Rest in peace you champion.”
English Olympic Association seat Hugh Robertson and BOA Athlete Commission seat Ben Hawes said in a joint articulation: “Ellie was an inconceivably prevalent and very much preferred individual from the group.
“Our considerations are with her family and companions at this pitiful time.”
The announcement said Soutter was because of come back to rivalry one month from now in the wake of being chosen for the GB group for the Junior World Championships in New Zealand.
