Election Commission powers today confined a truck transporting monetary standards of Rs 2,000 category to an open area bank in the survey bound Thanjavur. Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni said that the truck was transporting the money notes to a branch of Bank of Baroda.
The vehicle was confined for “specialized reasons”, he said. The vehicle conveyed new cash notes of 2,000 division, roughly worth about Rs seven crore. It is normal that the truck might be discharged after investigation of reports.
