Senior Congress pioneer Ajay Maken on Friday ventured down as the leader of the gathering’s Delhi unit.
Taking to Twitter, Maken offered his thanks towards the Congress laborers and gathering’s leader Rahul Gandhi for their adoration and support.
“Post 2015 Delhi Legislative Assembly races, as @INCDelhi president, I got monstrous regard and collaboration from my individual gathering specialists, the media who gave inclusion to the gathering and our gathering president @RahulGandhi ji. It was difficult in these troublesome circumstances. I thank all from the profound of my heart,” Maken tweeted in Hindi.
For as far back as couple of months, theories of Maken’s abdication had been doing the rounds, with the Congress disproving reports each time.
In September a year ago, the Congress had rejected reports of Maken’s acquiescence saying that he was on leave for a wellbeing registration and would be back inside seven days.
A three-time individual from the Delhi Assembly, two-time Member of Parliament (MP) and a previous Union Minister, Maken assumed control as Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president in 2015, supplanting Arvinder Singh Lovely.
In May 2017, Maken had surrendered as the Delhi Congress boss, after the gathering’s poor execution in the common surveys. Be that as it may, he assumed control over the position later on after Gandhi, at that point VP of the gathering, allegedly asked the 54-year-old pioneer to proceed.
