All India Football Federation (AIFF) named men’s football group chief Sunil Chhetri as the ‘AIFF Player of the Year’ amid an official panel meeting here on Sunday.
The 33-year-old played his first counterpart for India in the under-20 group in 2004 and went ahead to end up the most topped player and unsurpassed best objective scorer for the national group.
Chhetri helped India win the Nehru Cup thrice-2007, 2009 and 2012. He additionally drove the group to triumph in the SAFF Championship in 2011.
In ladies’ classification, 26-year-old Kamala Devi packed away the 2017 ‘AIFF Women Player of the Year.’
