A seismic tremor estimating 5.9 on the Richter Scale struck close to the Pacific island country of Vanuatu on Wednesday.
As per the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the shake happened at 9:14 am (nearby time) (10:14 pm UTC Tuesday). Its focal point was found 43 kilometers south-east of capital Port Vila.
The profundity of the earthquake was arranged at 149.8 kilometers, the USGS said.
There were no prompt reports of setbacks or harm to property because of the shudder. No tidal wave cautioning was issued too.
Vanuatu is arranged on the ‘Ring of Fire’, a zone in the bowl of the Pacific Ocean which is powerless against continuous tremors and volcanic ejections.
